My Story

The journey to sobriety is deeply personal. Here's my story - the struggles, the triumphs, and everything in between.

The Beginning

My relationship with alcohol began like many others - socially, casually, and seemingly under control. What started as weekend fun gradually became a daily companion, a way to celebrate good times and numb the bad.

For years, I convinced myself that I didn't have a problem. I had a job, maintained relationships, and functioned in society. But beneath the surface, alcohol was slowly taking more than it was giving.

The Turning Point

There wasn't one dramatic rock bottom moment, but rather a series of smaller awakenings. Forgotten conversations. Missed opportunities. The growing realization that I was living a fraction of the life I could be.

The decision to get sober wasn't made in a single day. It was a gradual process of admitting to myself that something needed to change, and finding the courage to make that change.

The Journey

Sobriety has been both harder and more rewarding than I ever imagined. There have been days of clarity and purpose so profound they take my breath away. There have also been moments of doubt, loneliness, and the temptation to return to old patterns.

This blog is my way of processing this journey - the good days and the challenging ones. It's also my hope that by sharing my experiences, someone else might find a moment of recognition, a spark of hope, or simply the comfort of knowing they're not alone.

Why "To Live Sober"?

I chose this name because sobriety isn't just about not drinking - it's about truly living. It's about being present for every moment, feeling every emotion, and engaging with life in its full, unfiltered reality.

Whether you're sober curious, newly in recovery, or years into your journey, I hope you find something here that speaks to you. We're all just taking it one day at a time.
